Can’t believe that the draft is tomorrow. All the preparation, all the scouting, it comes to this. This is our third and final NFL Mock. Our first one is here. Our second one is here. Let’s do this

1. Carolina

Cam Newton, QB, Auburn

I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again: This is the wrong pick. If I were the GM, I would go with Patrick Peterson. Cam Newton has undeniable potential. Great athletic ability. A winner in college. But, I fear he’ll flame out much like Vince Young did. He’ll win games with his feet, but he’ll never be a great quarterback. The transition from Auburn’s one read and go offense to a complex NFL one will be very difficult. Getting him to be accurate will be difficult. Teaching him that he can’t rely on his feet all the time. It’s an uphill battle. Newton needs to sit a year or two. In Carolina, he won’t. He’ll be thrown into the fire, and he’s not going to fare well. With a year or two of coaching, of learning. Newton could be special. But, he won’t get that. And it’s a shame, really. He needs to sit. And he won’t.

2. Denver

Marcel Dareus, DT, Alabama

Patrick Peterson is the best player in the draft, but Dareus is a close second. Dareus fills a big need, whereas Peterson would join an already crowded backfield. Dareus is the smarter choice.

3. Buffalo

Von Miller, OLB, Texas A&M

Miller is the impact defensive player they need in Buffalo. Can rush the passer, drop in coverage, and impact the game in numerous ways.

4. Cincinnati

AJ Green, WR, Georgia

The Bengals need an impact receiver, one to convince Carson Palmer to stay. Green is that guy
